On October 10, Mahalo.com launched a new homepage design with a few noticeable and enticing features, not to mention very helpful. The new homepage looks sleeker and more professional/organized than ever before.
One feature that definitely stands out from the rest, is the Liveblog on the right-hand side of the front page. This "news ticker" feature will be updated live by Mahalo "Guides" 24/7(or close to it) with interesting and breaking news coverage, fun, strange and wacky tidbits and more.
Also, if you click on "Continue Reading..." at the bottom of the liveblog, you'll be redirected to another page with a listing of all the news in the last several hours, along with ustream(for chatting and broadcasting live) and freenode channel to chat about the current news.
Okay, so here's a Before and After comparison, what do you think?

Better, yes? Yeah, I think so.

Google 2001
Little late to the party I know... but Google recently(few days ago) brought back their search index from 2001 with over a billion(only? lol) pages served. They said that they would have chose their 1998 search index, but due to technical complications, they couldn't. Oh well.. still pretty damn cool that they did this. The Google 2001 website will be up for just in the month of October then that's it. This is in celebration of their 10th birthday. Who knows, maybe they'll bring back their 1998 search when they turn 20.
What were you doing when Google first launched?

The Duke is BACK -- Duke Nukem 3D on XBLA
I've been a Duke Nukem fan ever since I first played Duke Nukem 3D on PC many, many years ago. When I first heard about a possible port of DN3D over to the XBLA, I was extremely stoked, seeing how I'm a huge fan and all. But that was mere rumors and nothing was definite at that point. Then months later, 3D Realms finally confirmed that the classic FPS would in fact be making its way to the XBLA sometime in 2008.
The only question at the time was "When", hint: Duke Nukem Forever. Lots of people thought different... thought the game would never see the light of day, kind of like DNF. I never gave up hope and today marks the day that Duke Nukem 3D does see the light of day and on Xbox Live Arcade!
Some of the features that this version has are:
- Online co-op with up to 8 players and multiplayer(DukeMatch)
- The ability to rewind or fast forward so that you can go back to whatever part in the level
- Player clips which allows you to watch your progress in whichever level and also let you show others players your clips
- And more!

ScribeFire - Blog Editor Addon for Firefox
I have to say that ScribeFire is easily one of(if not the) best Firefox addon I have ever encountered.
What this nifty addon does is it allows you to literally post to your blog without ever having to sign into your blog, leave Firefox, etc. Posting to your blog couldn't have been any easier.
As I type this, I'm using ScribeFire. It's so quick and easy I don't think I'll use the Blogger.com website ever again.
You can even open up ScribeFire in Split-Screen mode, meaning it attaches itself to the bottom of the screen(see image below, click for full size), Window mode and in a New tab mode.
There's so many different things you can do using ScribeFire. One of them being, the ability to drag any image straight to the Edit window, resize it, etc. Another really cool feature is YouTube integration. You click the YouTube icon next to the Font Color button and a new window opens up. You then search for any video you would like to add, click the OK button and bam, the video gets inserted into the post. There's a Flickr integrator as well, which basically does the same thing. The downside on both of these(some-what of a downside) is it won't allow you to move the videos/images around the post.
However, if you drag an image from somewhere, you are able to put it anywhere.
And best of all, you can edit old entries, as well. Isn't that awesome? Not only that though, ScribeFire supports multiple accounts so you can post to one blog, then switch over and post to another one, just as easy as that.
Like I said, one of the greatest addons I have ever seen/used.
That's about it. There's other cool features, but you'll have to try ScribeFire out for yourself to get the full experience. Install it NOW!

Tomonobu Itagaki hands in his resignation?
Yep, you heard right. The legendary Team Ninja HEAD MASTER Tomonobu Itagaki has handed Tecmo his resignation. He'll be leaving Tecmo and Team Ninja on July 1, 2008.
The bloody and gory slice-n-dice action game Ninja Gaiden II will be his last Ninja Gaiden game he'll ever produce, stating in an interview a few weeks back that it will be his "swan song" and rightfully so.
The reasoning for his resignation is due to the lack of unpaid bonuses to Mr. Itagaki for completion of Dead or Alive 4. The President of Tecmo Co., Yoshimi Yasuda said he would be paid a completion bonus but then went back on his word. Yasuda went on to tell Itagaki that if he has a problem with the current situation to either "quit" or "sue the company" and that's exactly what he plans to do. Another reason for his departure is a hostile working environment.
It does suck however that after so many years with Team Ninja it all came down this. I think Itagaki will either join an already existing game company or create his own.
Anyways, I wish Tomonobu Itagaki the very best of luck in whatever he does in the future.
For a full statement on his resignation, read on...

Brushing the dust off...
Yes, I know. There hasn't been much stuff going on around here as of late. Reason being is I've been working a lot lately and haven't found the time... that's half of it and the other half is I've been lazy I guess(poor excuse I know).
Anyways, just a small update.. I think I'm going to change the layout, or make a logo(or use a logo a friend made for me a long time ago) soon. Something that will stand out and look good. When I find the time.
In closing, here's a video of Veronica Belmont(Host of Mahalo Daily), Jonathan Coulton(who was the mastermind behind Portal's ending song "Still Alive", Leo Laporte and Merlin Mann all performing the new Rock Band DLC (coming soon) "Still Alive". Enjoy!
And for something totally related, I finally got my Aperture Laboratories Coffee Mug(been waiting for them to get more in stock since Dec. 2007):
It's quite the coffee mug. It's pretty strong, heavy and looks really awesome. HUGE SUCCESS!
