Street Fighter IV Is Gonna Kick Ass!

The wait is just about over and soon the world will know the true next-next-gen fighting game. Street Fighter IV opens up a whole new chapter with all-new characters, stages, outrageously awesome special MEGA moves and all the same 2D fighting with out-of-this-world 3D graphics.

Already reviewers are saying SFIV is the best fighting game of this generation.

The video games team at Mahalo.com have made outstanding pages of all the fighters of Street Fighter IV with complete move sets and videos of the fighters in action. There's other pages in the mix as well that are definitely worth checking out.

All I can say right now is... HADOUKEN!

Batman: Arkham Asylum Is Looking Better and Better

Holy shit... Batman: Arkham Asylum is looking better and better every day as newer screenshots roll in.

Joystiq.com has some very nice impressions of the next-next-gen Batman game set in the gritty underground world of the iconic Arkham Asylum, where all the biggest badasses of Gotham go.

I cannot wait to get my hands on this game as I'm sure it'll be an awesome experience, but still a little early to tell.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is supposedly due out in May. Let's hope.

Mahalo.com Launches New Homepage Design

On October 10, Mahalo.com launched a new homepage design with a few noticeable and enticing features, not to mention very helpful. The new homepage looks sleeker and more professional/organized than ever before.

One feature that definitely stands out from the rest, is the Liveblog on the right-hand side of the front page. This "news ticker" feature will be updated live by Mahalo "Guides" 24/7(or close to it) with interesting and breaking news coverage, fun, strange and wacky tidbits and more.

Also, if you click on "Continue Reading..." at the bottom of the liveblog, you'll be redirected to another page with a listing of all the news in the last several hours, along with ustream(for chatting and broadcasting live) and freenode channel to chat about the current news.

Okay, so here's a Before and After comparison, what do you think?

Before the new homepage launch:

After the new homepage launch:

Better, yes? Yeah, I think so.

Google 2001

Little late to the party I know... but Google recently(few days ago) brought back their search index from 2001 with over a billion(only? lol) pages served. They said that they would have chose their 1998 search index, but due to technical complications, they couldn't. Oh well.. still pretty damn cool that they did this. The Google 2001 website will be up for just in the month of October then that's it. This is in celebration of their 10th birthday. Who knows, maybe they'll bring back their 1998 search when they turn 20.

What were you doing when Google first launched?

Live Your Moment Microsoft Ad Campaign

So Microsoft recently let loose an ad campaign called "Live Your Moment". I think this will definitely help the sells of the Xbox 360/games.

I've listed a video for the ad below. This video is freakin' trippy and awesome!

I have to say... pretty damn cool.

Finally...

...that guy got disbarred... all I can say at this point is... it's about damn time.

Good ridden, Mr. Thompson.

P.S. Here's a few funnies about the man himself... hilarious.

The Duke is BACK -- Duke Nukem 3D on XBLA

http://dorol.files.wordpress.com/2007/11/jeu_duke_3d_dorol.jpg

I've been a Duke Nukem fan ever since I first played Duke Nukem 3D on PC many, many years ago. When I first heard about a possible port of DN3D over to the XBLA, I was extremely stoked, seeing how I'm a huge fan and all. But that was mere rumors and nothing was definite at that point. Then months later, 3D Realms finally confirmed that the classic FPS would in fact be making its way to the XBLA sometime in 2008.

The only question at the time was "When", hint: Duke Nukem Forever. Lots of people thought different... thought the game would never see the light of day, kind of like DNF. I never gave up hope and today marks the day that Duke Nukem 3D does see the light of day and on Xbox Live Arcade!

Some of the features that this version has are:
  • Online co-op with up to 8 players and multiplayer(DukeMatch)
  • The ability to rewind or fast forward so that you can go back to whatever part in the level
  • Player clips which allows you to watch your progress in whichever level and also let you show others players your clips
  • And more!
In closing, as Duke Nukem always said, "It's time to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And I'm all outta gum!" - Go download your copy of Duke Nukem 3D NOW... I have!

ScribeFire - Blog Editor Addon for Firefox

So I was searching for addons on the Firefox website today to see which ones are cool and which ones aren't, then I came upon this Blog Editor addon. It looked pretty appealing so I went ahead and installed it.

I have to say that ScribeFire is easily one of(if not the) best Firefox addon I have ever encountered.

What this nifty addon does is it allows you to literally post to your blog without ever having to sign into your blog, leave Firefox, etc. Posting to your blog couldn't have been any easier.

As I type this, I'm using ScribeFire. It's so quick and easy I don't think I'll use the Blogger.com website ever again.

You can even open up ScribeFire in Split-Screen mode, meaning it attaches itself to the bottom of the screen(see image below, click for full size), Window mode and in a New tab mode.

There's so many different things you can do using ScribeFire. One of them being, the ability to drag any image straight to the Edit window, resize it, etc. Another really cool feature is YouTube integration. You click the YouTube icon next to the Font Color button and a new window opens up. You then search for any video you would like to add, click the OK button and bam, the video gets inserted into the post. There's a Flickr integrator as well, which basically does the same thing. The downside on both of these(some-what of a downside) is it won't allow you to move the videos/images around the post.

However, if you drag an image from somewhere, you are able to put it anywhere.

And best of all, you can edit old entries, as well. Isn't that awesome? Not only that though, ScribeFire supports multiple accounts so you can post to one blog, then switch over and post to another one, just as easy as that.

Like I said, one of the greatest addons I have ever seen/used.

That's about it. There's other cool features, but you'll have to try ScribeFire out for yourself to get the full experience. Install it NOW!

Tomonobu Itagaki hands in his resignation?

Yep, you heard right. The legendary Team Ninja HEAD MASTER Tomonobu Itagaki has handed Tecmo his resignation. He'll be leaving Tecmo and Team Ninja on July 1, 2008.

The bloody and gory slice-n-dice action game Ninja Gaiden II will be his last Ninja Gaiden game he'll ever produce, stating in an interview a few weeks back that it will be his "swan song" and rightfully so.

The reasoning for his resignation is due to the lack of unpaid bonuses to Mr. Itagaki for completion of Dead or Alive 4. The President of Tecmo Co., Yoshimi Yasuda said he would be paid a completion bonus but then went back on his word. Yasuda went on to tell Itagaki that if he has a problem with the current situation to either "quit" or "sue the company" and that's exactly what he plans to do. Another reason for his departure is a hostile working environment.

It does suck however that after so many years with Team Ninja it all came down this. I think Itagaki will either join an already existing game company or create his own.

Anyways, I wish Tomonobu Itagaki the very best of luck in whatever he does in the future.

For a full statement on his resignation, read on...

Brushing the dust off...

Yes, I know. There hasn't been much stuff going on around here as of late. Reason being is I've been working a lot lately and haven't found the time... that's half of it and the other half is I've been lazy I guess(poor excuse I know).

Anyways, just a small update.. I think I'm going to change the layout, or make a logo(or use a logo a friend made for me a long time ago) soon. Something that will stand out and look good. When I find the time.

In closing, here's a video of Veronica Belmont(Host of Mahalo Daily), Jonathan Coulton(who was the mastermind behind Portal's ending song "Still Alive", Leo Laporte and Merlin Mann all performing the new Rock Band DLC (coming soon) "Still Alive". Enjoy!

And for something totally related, I finally got my Aperture Laboratories Coffee Mug(been waiting for them to get more in stock since Dec. 2007):

It's quite the coffee mug. It's pretty strong, heavy and looks really awesome. HUGE SUCCESS!

Happy New Year!

Wow... what can I say. 2007 was one hell of a great year for video games. There were so many games to choose from, over all consoles(mostly) and PC. There was just so many games that I could barely keep up with them all. So many great games and so little time to play them all. Only if there were more hours in the day, like 48 or 72(pipe dream, haha).

There was BioShock, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Super Mario Galaxy, Unreal Tournament III, Crysis, Call of Duty 4, Guitar Hero III, Rock Band, Crackdown and so many, many more. If I listed them all, it'd go on forever(haha).

Happy New Year everyone, and hopefully 2008 will be as great of a year for video games as 2007 was!

See ya all in '08!

Duke Nukem Forever Teaser Trailer We've All Been Waiting 6 Years For...

And here it is in all it's "foreverness"(sorry couldn't find any other word, haha) glory:

I know this is all CGI and not actual gameplay footage, but from the scenes of clips playing throughout the teaser, the game looks mighty fine, definitely a lot better looking than the previous ones shown 6-10 years ago.

Overall, I like the new look of Duke Nukem and I think after taking "forever" to actually complete it and get it out to store shelves, I think the game will be awesome. Sure, that's only speculated, as I obviously haven't even played the game yet and probably won't play it anytime soon, but hopefully it'll be awesome. Guess we'll see.

Duke Nukem Forever Teaser Trailer...And The World Stood Still...

Duke Nukem Forever. Yes, that's right, the game that's been in development longer than any other game in history. So I find out from DIGG that there will be a Duke Nukem Forever Teaser Trailer being released tomorrow. So I say to myself, "OMG! WOW!"... and a whole lot more, but need not be repeated here.

The game's been in development for so long no one knows what to expect from 3D Realms anymore.

If you want an idea as to what actually happened from Apr. 25, 1997(The day DNF was first announced) to now(Dec. 18, 2007), take a look here(you'll be amazed).

Here's a link to a screenshot taken from the Duke Nukem Forever Teaser Trailer. I'd post it up above, but I'd rather not be sued at this time of the year. But if I were sued for posting the image, the case would be closed before Duke Nukem Forever was released(as sad as that is).

I've been a huge fan of Duke Nukem 3D ever since I got my hands on the game and as soon as I heard back in Apr. 1997 that a new Duke Nukem game was in development, I ran to my local "whatever game store at the time" and pre-ordered it(even though that was a bit early... okay, WAY early). I just wished I still had that receipt. Oh well, gone now probably.

I just thought of something, maybe they planned this own thing from the get go. Coincidently the game is named Duke Nukem "Forever" and who would have known the game would take "Forever" to be released. So maybe it was a plan all along, to build up hype over 10 years.

All I know is when they do eventually release Duke Nukem Forever, the game BETTER be good. At least that's what we all hope, because after all, it's taking them FOREVER to get the game released.

I think it'll be awesome!

Animation vs. Animation

This has got to be one of the best and most entertaining flash animation videos I've seen in a long while. The way everything was put together is just outstanding. There was so much going on, everything was perfectly animated. I did not want it to end, but it eventually did. :(

Hopefully there will be a Pt. 2 or a sequel someday. I will definitely be looking out for that.

Here it is in all its "animated glory", enjoy:

Halo 3's launch has become the biggest event in entertainment history!

Yesterday, Microsoft officially announced Halo 3's launch is the biggest event in entertainment history, totaling sales of more then $170m in the U.S. alone, passing every single big hollywood movie on opening day in history! Read more...

There was speculation about Halo 3 surpassing Halo 2's first day totals($125m) by about $30m totaling $155m, but I bet they never expected Halo 3's first day totals to be $170m which is a huge leap from Halo 2's first day totals. It's awesome and I applaud both Microsoft Game Studios and Bungie Studios for doing one hell of a job with all the promotions, getting that Halo 3 hype way up there and for making Halo 3 the great game that it is.

Great job!

The Day after Halo 3

Wow... today is the day after Halo 3, in case anyone hadn't noticed and the rush is finally subsiding, yet there's still a lot of stuff happening right now in the Halo Universe.

First off I'd like to say that waiting three-four years was well worth the wait. Absolutely. I couldn't be any more happier with the game and that's including the Campaign and Multiplayer.

The story thus far(haven't beat it yet) is just remarkable. The action is intense especially with everything happening at once, it's incredible. The gameplay is pretty much the same, other then a few things that you can do differently. The graphics were obviously upgraded and improved because of obvious reasons, yet the graphics aren't as great as Gears of War or BioShock, but still a hell of a lot better then Halo 2's graphics. Whatever, just as long as the game is fun as hell(and it is!) then that's all that should really matter anyways, right? Yep, right.

So in conclusion, Halo 3 is an experience you should not miss out on, whether your a casual or hardcore gamer. But if you haven't played Halo: Combat Evolved or Halo 2, then don't both with Halo 3 since you won't know what's going on(story wise) and the story is the best part, next to the gameplay.

Well, anyways, I'm off to go play more Halo 3. Peace.

I now have Halo 3!!!!! WOOHOO!

So I finally got the Halo 3 Legendary(OR ULTIMATE) Edition and I can't be any happier about it.

After work today, I went home to get a few things and then drove to Orange County and then waited at my dads house for awhile. Then around 9:00, I drove to my local GameStop to pick up the final receipt. There was actually two lines, one line for getting the final receipt(which you get only if you paid in full earlier in the day) and then the other line was where all the people went after getting the final receipt.

Anyways, I waited and waited, listened to my Video iPod. So finally the time arrived(12:01am) to get my copy of Halo 3 Legendary Edition. I was pretty far back in the line(kind of), so I thought it'd take at least 30 minutes, but nope... since everyone had already paid in full, the line went quicker then I had originally thought, like 5 minutes I was out the door with my Halo 3 Legendary Edition in hand.

Then I drove home, thanks to my Monster, I did not fall asleep.

Anyways, I'm off to play Halo 3(Just had to make this blog post first, haha). Laterz!

Halo 3 = Tomorrow at MIDNIGHT!

Wow... I can't believe tomorrow night at 12:01am Halo 3 will be released to the general public!

And I will be in attendance at my local GameStop(In Orange County) since I pre-ordered it there back in Nov. 2006(where I use to live), but then this past April I moved to Los Angeles. So I gotta do a bit of driving tomorrow after work, but it's all good... after all, it's Halo 3!

Halo 3 is my most anticipated game of 2007 and I'm not just saying that either.. because of all the promotions and hype building up around the game.

I've been waiting for Halo 3 since the second I beat Halo 2 and that was close to three years ago.

I'm sure Halo 3 is going to live up to the hype and even beyond that. I'm now counting the seconds.

I can't wait!
